School & Life Update :)

Hi, it has been almost a month since I checked in! I've been flooded with schoolwork and exams during the past couple of weeks. I have taken a Pathophysiology and Medsurg exam earning an excellent grade on both! So far, my hard work has been paying off and I am halfway through the semester. That is crazy to think about. Each morning I wake up, attend class, and complete work throughout the day. Before I know it, the day is over, so I am keeping busy. I am still trying my best to balance school with my social life, which I do mainly on the weekends. 

This Thursday I have a Maternity exam, then I have a two-week break from exams, which excites me. Next week, I start in-person clinical for both Maternity and Medsurg! I am so excited to finally get hands-on experience at UPenn and Foulkeways. Two of my roommates have already been at CHOP and their assigned nursing homes and they have seen and learned so much. I am excited to apply my knowledge to the hospital setting and work as a student nurse. 

Socially, I am looking forward to multiple events coming up. It's fall break soon, I am going to the University of Delaware for my best friend's 21st, it's Halloween, and I am going to PennState for my other best friend's birthday. This will all happen in the next month, so I will check back in to update you all on all that fun!

Happy Halloween!

 Hi everyone! Happy Halloween!!!! This is my 5th and final blog and it is crazy to think that there are only about 4 weeks left of school. Time has been flying by this semester. Although school is almost over, I still have tons of homework, exams, and clinical to complete. It will be a full month, but I am sure it will be over in the blink of an eye since I am keeping busy. As far as exam wise, I have been studying almost every week and it becomes very tiring. It does pay off though which is rewarding. Every Wednesday, clinical at UPenn in the maternity unit keeps me busy too. I have assisted on the labor and delivery floor, OR for a C-section, and the ICU. I experience something new every week and I learn so much each time. As far as the nursing home, I have assisted patients with dementia and built connections with the individuals.  Hi! My name is Savannah Glassey, and I am a junior at Widener University. I am studying nursing and can not believe I am halfway through the program. I am excited to see what the future holds once I graduate and become an RN. Widener has not only given me an education but also lifelong friends. I have enjoyed every semester here so far and I am looking forward to seeing how these classes play out. Also, I am from Bucks County, PA, and live around 45 minutes from campus. Although I am fairly close to school I got a house off campus with 4 other girls who became my best friends. It's so nice because I have a great school and home friends.
